Introduction to beer lees processing equipment

Beer lees is a core byproduct of the beer brewing industry. Fresh, wet beer lees has a high moisture content of 75%-85%, is moist and loose in texture, and rich in nutrients, but it is extremely prone to mold growth and rapid spoilage. This results in a very short storage period, high long-distance transportation costs, and serious environmental pollution, making it a pressing waste disposal problem for beer companies. Traditional sun-drying methods are land-intensive, inefficient, and heavily influenced by weather, failing to meet the needs of large-scale, harmless, and resource-based treatment. Dingli's professional beer lees dryer, however, achieves efficient dehydration, quality-preserving drying, and resource-based reuse of beer lees, suitable for continuous production operations in large and medium-sized breweries.

The beer lees drying process employs an integrated mechanical pre-dehydration + continuous drum drying process, which is simple and highly automated. First, the high-moisture beer lees is pre-treated by a filter press to remove most of the free water, reducing the moisture content to around 65%, significantly reducing the subsequent drying load. Then, it is fed into the industrial dryer drum via a closed screw conveyor. The equipment features a built-in specialized lifting plate and dispersing device that continuously lifts and disperses clumps of brewer's grains, preventing material from sticking to the walls and causing uneven heating. Combined with a multi-loop hot air circulation system, hot air and material undergo thorough convection heat exchange, achieving layered drying in both co-current and counter-current flow, rapidly evaporating internal moisture. Temperature and humidity are controlled throughout the process, effectively preserving the core nutrients in the brewer's grains, such as protein, dietary fiber, and vitamins, ultimately reducing the material's moisture content to a stable 10%-12%, meeting safe storage standards.

Dried brewer's grains processed by Dingli Industrial Dryer completely solves the pain points of easy mold growth, difficult storage, and high transportation costs. The finished product is dry, loose, uniform in color, and free of spoilage or off-odors, with a shelf life extended to over one year. Its application value is extremely high; it can be used as a high-quality, high-protein feed ingredient for cattle, sheep, pigs, and aquaculture, significantly reducing feed costs; it can also be processed into organic fertilizer base material and biomass fuel, achieving zero waste and resource recycling. The entire drying system operates stably with a low failure rate and controllable energy consumption. It requires minimal manual operation, alleviating environmental pollution pressures for businesses while transforming waste brewer's grains into high-value-added products, generating additional economic benefits.
