Operating Principle of High-Moisture Coal Slime Drying

 High-moisture coal slime is characterized by high water content, high viscosity, a tendency to clump, and poor flowability; traditional air-drying methods suffer from low efficiency, require large land areas, and pose significant environmental pollution risks. The high-moisture coal slime dryer utilizes a rotary drum design with high-temperature hot air drying technology; specifically engineered for viscous coal slime, it enables continuous, automated dewatering and drying.

Wet coal slime is fed into the drying drum, which is equipped with specialized mechanisms for breaking up, lifting, and cascading the material; these ensure that clumped or sticky slime is thoroughly dispersed and scattered, preventing material from adhering to the drum walls or causing blockages. Simultaneously, high-temperature hot air facilitates efficient heat exchange—either counter-current or co-current—with the coal slime inside the drum; the hot air penetrates the material bed, rapidly removing both free and surface moisture.

The drum rotates continuously at a low speed, causing the coal slime to tumble, lift, and scatter repeatedly, ensuring uniform heating and thorough dewatering. As the material advances, the moisture content of the high-moisture coal slime gradually decreases, transforming it from a wet, viscous state into loose, dry, and free-flowing coal slime. An intelligent temperature control system regulates air temperature, airflow velocity, and feed rate, ensuring consistent final moisture content and product quality.

The dried coal slime is discharged from the outlet and is ready for direct stacking, storage, transport, or further processing, while exhaust gases undergo dust removal and purification to meet emission standards. The entire system integrates feeding, breaking, drying, discharging, and dust removal into a continuous operation, effectively resolving industry challenges associated with the difficult drying, tendency to clog, and low efficiency of high-moisture coal slime.
