How to dry alfalfa?

Alfalfa is one of the famous fine pastures, rich in protein, crude fiber, vitamins and trace elements. Alfalfa drying is a common method for alfalfa long-term storage or processing of silage. The dried alfalfa has a water content of about 12%, which meets the requirements of alfalfa storage or silage processing. How to dry alfalfa? This article takes you to learn more about the alfalfa drying process through the alfalfa dehydration and drying process and the on-site operation video of the forage dryer.

Alfalfa dryers generally use three-layer rotary drum dryers, which are large in output, efficient and energy-saving, and occupy a small area. It is used in conjunction with a clean hot blast stove, which is especially suitable for drying high-moisture materials such as pasture and can quickly complete the moisture content of alfalfa. It can quickly complete the drying of alfalfa grass moisture from 65-75% to 14-18%. The dry pasture retains the nutrients of the pasture, with bright color and fragrance.

Material flow: The alfalfa grass with a moisture content of about 45-75% is fed into the drum by the conveyor to achieve downstream drying. The alfalfa grass is continuously picked up and scattered under the inner layer of the slab and moves forward in a spiral manner. Through the inner, middle and outer layers, the material and hot air are exchanged. The alfalfa that achieves the drying effect travels quickly out of the drum under the action of the wind, and the wet alfalfa that does not achieve the drying effect cannot travel quickly due to its own weight. Alfalfa grass is fully dried in the control stroke, thereby achieving the drying effect, the moisture is reduced to 14-18% (customer requirements), the drying process is completed, and it is discharged by the screw conveyor. A special removal device is installed inside the drum to prevent uneven drying of alfalfa.

Gas flow: Alfalfa grass dryer equipped with indirect clean hot air furnace, clean air is pressurized by the blower into the heat exchanger, the temperature reaches 150-350℃, the air is sucked into the drying material of the dryer by the later induced draft fan, and the water is evaporated. The temperature is lowered to 35-55℃ and discharged from the dryer, and the dust-containing moisture is purified by the dust collector and discharged to the standard.

Zhengzhou Dingli customizes and supplies alfalfa dryer equipment, and optimizes drying process technology and equipment selection and configuration services according to alfalfa output, application requirements, cost control, site conditions, investment quota, etc.
